Year 4 took a trip into Gloucester to explore the remains of Roman Glevum and learn more about the legacy of the Romans in Gloucester. We went to Gloucester Museum and undertook a range of exciting activities, such as mosaic making, dressing up and creating Roman aromas. We also had the opportunity to visit the Eastgate chamber beneath Boots, and handle a range of Roman artefacts. We then visited Gloucester Waterways Museum, where we had a fabulous afternoon on the boat ‘Queen Boadicea II’ – not only did we deepen our understanding of the importance of Gloucester Docks during the Victorian era, but we had a brilliant trip along the canal with lots of fun along the way.
