Congratulations to our ‘Reading in Strange Places’ competition winners who wowed us with their original, imaginative ideas in finding unique and interesting places to read! The competition was part of our annual HJS World Book Week celebrations – keep on reading!

Congratulations to our sponsored read winners whose amazing reading efforts over the Easter holidays earnt them some delicious chocolate eggs and the school a large sum of money to put towards new iPads! Thank you to our Friends of Harewood team for organising this fabulous challenge.

Well done to both this week’s LKS2 star readers and our first children to reach 500 minutes in our annual reading challenge’s race to one million minutes – keep on reading!

On Friday 15th March, Year 5 visited St George’s church to explore why Christians celebrate Easter and engaged in a range of activities.

We combined our termly ‘Healthy Active’ day with Comic Relief celebrations and all children competed in an inter-house obstacle course competition. The overall winning team with 136 obstacle laps completed are Hardwicke. Well done to everyone who took part – we had great fun.

Mid dodgeball, there was the D.E.A.R bell and so we stopped and read!

It was fabulous to welcome over 200 parents and carers into school for our World Book Day whole school breakfast and parent / child reading – it was fantastic to see so many lovely moments of families reading together – a wonderful start to the day!

Our school librarian Mrs Hughes is a voracious reader who loves to welcome children and parents into our school library. Click the tabs on the right for her video series, with the first episodes introducing our school library and a focus on classic texts and picture books.
